We’ve just had a little problem with one of our databases so people wouldn’t have been able to access their client areas for a couple of hours.
All has been sorted and full access should now be available. If you have any further problems please contact support in the usual way.
Gertrude is our new domain catching system which we launched today in the very web 2.0 esque way of a pubic beta.
Gertrude allows you to register domains that you have seen that are currently not available. Gertrude will then monitor these domains and try to register them once they do become available. The custom system has been programmed to check availability at crucial times to try and be the first to register. If it is successful you will receive your invoice and receipts as though you had ordered a domain normally thought DomainDonkey.
For this to work you do need to have available funds in your client account, but adding funds is very simple.
If Gertrude doesn’t manage to register your desired domain, the funds in your account can be put towards any other DomainDonkey purchases or we will refund the money (less any gateway charges).

Gertrude is only available to registered DomainDonkey clients. If you are already a client you can access Gertrude from your client area or login directly. New clients can sign up for free to gain access.

Well we must apologise for the lack of posting since August 2008. Not only have we failed to keep the blog up to date, we didn’t even manage to wish everyone a Merry Christmas or Happy New Year - so Best Wishes to All!
Not to say we haven’t been busy whilst not posting. We’ve upgraded our client software and we are currently working on DNS management so that you can use DomainDonkey to manage all the dns on your domain.
We’ve also been investigating VoIP and will soon be launching our new Customer Service telephone number as well as a new donkey site offering VoIP solutions.

Now we’ve launched our SSL certificates I thought I’d go over what an SSL certificate actually is, why you would need one and good reasons to have them.
There are several different types of SSL certificate which we will cover in more detail shortly but all if them have one essential thing in common - the encryption of data. This is very important (and some would say a must) if you take payments online or ask customers to submit personal information.
Quick Validation
Quick validation is just that - a quick way of validating that you own the site that you are purchasing a certificate for. This is normally done by emailing a whois recorded email contact to verify that the SSL request is genuine. This email contains a simple confirmation link and once clicked your certificate code is generated.
